HELP! Varroa Count High going into Winter

Hello Members, my last two tests (sugar roll), testing over the last two weeks between weather spells were high(er).  So summer was decent 1-2%, and started treatments before mid August until current with Hopguard 3. As of yesterday's test I'm now at almost 5% (alarm bells!), up from 3% two weeks ago.

After discussion with Heike Williams, it appears OA will make the most sense given outdoor temps and the short runway to winter.  Vaporization would be great, also noodling the VarroxSan strips (OA as well).

Does anyone have a cost saving strategy for vaporizing, costs seem to be all over depending on vendor.  Also, anyone with experience using VarroxSan strips?  I can only find the 60 packs @ $89.00.  Seems quick and less expensive than vaporizing though.

Open to comments, suggestions, or help!

    Thanks! Kris (Tumalo) 541-639-7740
