As a part of the Oregon Master Beekeeping program we like to conduct postmortems on dead outs to help students learn how to diagnose the cause(s) of hive losses. Do you have a dead out that you would like to learn what killed it? We can help. We would ask you to keep the hive completely intact, strapped together for transport without disturbances such as cleaning bottom boards, etc. The hive should be brought to one of our Saturday morning classes held at the OSU Extension Annex in Redmond. The class begins a 9:00 am and the postmortem would take 30 minutes or so to conduct. Please contact me for further information if you are interested. Clyde Dildine 541-549-0998.
