“Saturday in the Apiary” is back! This Saturday will be a warm enough day to inspect colonies and check if they are queenright. Learn about equalizing colonies and how to determine if the bees need to be fed - starvation being the biggest concern this time of year. Plus, this is a good chance to meet old fellow backyard beekeeper friends or make new ones!
RSVP is required and space is limited, so register early by clicking on this link https://forms.gle/pqiC2YBmWTDwgNXE6 . This event is weather dependent. Those who RSVP will receive a follow-up email with details. For more information, contact Heike Williams at heike.williams@oregonstate.edu
Saturday in the Apiary is a casual, loosely structured event intended to provide a learning experience in a relaxed setting. We perform hive inspections, discuss colony management strategies for the month, and implement them. Everyone who is comfortable being around live honey bees is welcome. You will need to bring your own gear (veil/gloves). Limited amount of veils available upon request. This is a free event.
