If you have access to the oil.  I know with my cedar chests, when I want to "refresh" them, I drill several shallow holes in the bottom, fill them with the oil (cedar in this case) then put a plug in them to protect the contents from the oil. 

Also looking for shavings.  Where is a good source?

Yes I have been using juniper planner shavings for mite controls and I for several years. This is very clean no oils from say a chainsaw etc . the juniper is a  kd material ( kiln dried ) . It appears to work. Weather it is the camfor or the mites get tangled in is is the question..  A 1inch layer about one inch wide around the three. Sides of the bottom board,not the entrance...
