Hello! Thank you for registering for the Central Oregon Beekeepers Association Annual Beginners Course.

OUR GOAL

The goal of this course is to help you feel confident and successful in your first year of beekeeping using a Langstroth hive.

Schedule

Small group sessions rotate through the same core topics.

  • 8:30–9:00 AM------- Check-in + raffle table open
  • 9:00 AM-------------- Full Group Orientation
  • 9:30–10:00 AM------ 1st Small Group Presentation
  • 10:05–10:35 AM----- 2nd Small Group Presentation
  • 10:35–10:55 AM----- 20 Minute Break
  • 10:55–11:25 AM----- 3rd Small Group Presentation
  • 11:30 AM–12:00 PM- 4th Small Group Presentation
  • 12:00 PM------------- 45 Minute Lunch Break
  • 12:45 PM------------- Full Group Presentation
  • 1:05–1:35 PM-------- 5th Small Group Presentation
  • 1:40–2:10 PM-------- 6th Small Group Presentation
  • 2:10–2:30 PM-------- 20 Minute Break
  • 2:30–3:15 PM-------- Full Group Presentation & Wrap Up
  • 3:15 PM--------------- Raffle Winners Pick Up Prizes

What to Bring

  • A sack lunch (and any snacks you’d like)

  • A reusable coffee cup (coffee will be available while it lasts & there is a water fountain)

  • Your curiosity, questions, and most fun self

What to Expect

  • You’ll rotate through a series of small-group learning stations and full-group presentations covering essential beginner topics. We will be taking a couple of 20-minute breaks, and a lunch.

Station Rotation Schedule (How Groups Move)

The course is divided into 6 learning stations. You will rotate through each station in a small group. 

Your name tag shows your group number (1–6). Start at your assigned station and follow the route below:

Group 1:

1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → 6

Group 2:

2 → 3 → 4 → 5 → 6 → 1

Group 3:

3 → 4 → 5 → 6 → 1 → 2

Group 4:

4 → 5 → 6 → 1 → 2 → 3

Group 5:

5 → 6 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4

Group 6:

6 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5


Volunteers will guide each transition.

Please stay with your group and move to the next station when it’s time.

Each participant will receive complimentary raffle tickets in their check-in envelope.

If you’d like additional tickets, you are welcome to purchase more in advance online, or at the check-in table.
