Registration

  • Why register? While this is a free event, we kindly ask that you register if you plan to attend. Registration helps us plan effectively and ensures we have enough resources for everyone. Additionally, registering online allows you to pre-sign the required waiver, making your entrance into the event swift and easy. After registration, you can expect to receive the waiver as an e-document within 48 hours.

    Day-of Attendance: If you prefer not to register online, you are still welcome to join us on the day of the event! Volunteers will be available to assist with check-in and waiver signing. Please allow a few extra minutes for this process.


World Honey Bee Day - Field Day & Picnic

The Central Oregon Beekeepers are hosting an all-ages Honey Bee Field Day and Picnic to celebrate World Honey Bee Day! Join us for hands-on learning, honey bee colony inspections, scavenger hunts, free melon sampling, a U-pick patch (wallet required), and more! Open to all: Beekeepers, aspiring beekeepers, and bee enthusiasts.

Schedule for Experienced Beekeepers

  • 9:45 AM - 12:00 PM: Check-in required
  • 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM: Naomi Price - Bees and Foraging
  • 10:55 AM - 11:30 AM: Heike Williams - Varroa Mite Update
  • 11:40 AM - 12:20 PM: Lars and Erik Santana - Hive Inspection (must sign waiver at check-in)
  • 10:00 AM - 12:20 PM: Ongoing activities: Honey tasting, hive box painting, scavenger hunt, observation hive, and melon sampling
  • 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Bring your own picnic and maybe a food/drink item to share made with honey

Schedule for Non-Beekeepers

  • 9:45 AM - 12:00 PM: Check-in required
  • 10:45 AM - 11:30 AM: Live Hive Peek - Lars and Erik Santana (protective wear provided, wear closed shoes and socks, must sign waiver at check-in)
  • 10:00 AM - 12:20 PM: Ongoing activities: Honey tasting, hive box painting, scavenger hunt, observation hive, and melon sampling
  • 12:30 PM - 1:00 PM: Picnic and maybe a dish/drink to share made with honey

Note: The general public is welcome to all talks and sessions. Please note though, that the Experienced Beekeepers schedule of events is targeted as such.

What to Bring:

  • Lawn chair
  • Water bottle
  • Picnic lunch and maybe a food/drink item to share made with honey
  • Clothes that can get accidentally painted (for the artists of the day)

Before you dive into the hive (literally!), please ensure you complete our Event Liability Waiver, available at check-in.

Please note that this Field Day event will replace our regular monthly meeting for this month. We encourage all members to attend this special event to gain hands-on experience and enjoy the activities planned.
