Even experiment beekeepers make mistakes. Learn how to deal with colonies which are much smaller than they are supposed to be. Further, we will harvest honey, check colonies for mites and treat them. Note, that we will start an hour earlier to avoid the heat of the day.
Everyone who is comfortable being around live honey bees is welcome. You will need to bring your own gear (veil/gloves). A limited number of veils are available upon request.
This is a free event.
Invitations to the next workshop, which include an RSVP button, will be sent 7 to 10 days prior to the event to those who signed up for the COAREC (Central Oregon Agricultural Research and Extension Center) mailing list.
