COAREC Saturday in the ApiaryOctober 11, 2025, from 1 to 3 pm
It's the time of year to put the bees to bed. Do they have enough food stores? Mite infestations levels at an acceptable level? Are colonies queenright, or do we need to combine two colonies? We will also cover how best to store unused frames. Please join us.
Saturday in the Apiary is a casual, loosely structured event intended to provide a learning experience in a relaxed setting. It usually takes place on the second Saturday of the month. Times may vary. We perform hive inspections, discuss colony management strategies for the month, and implement them. You will need to bring your own gear (veil/gloves). A limited number of veils are available upon request.
Everyone who is comfortable being around live honey bees is welcome.
This is a free event.
Invitations to the next workshop, which include an RSVP button, will be sent 7 to 10 days prior to the event to those who signed up for the COAREC (Central Oregon Agricultural Research and Extension Center) mailing list.
